Meet Our Kindergarten Teachers

Mr. Andrew Churchill, Kindergarten
Hi! My name is Drew Churchill. I grew up just down the road, graduating from Canyon Hills High School in 2011. I moved up to Los Angeles for a couple of years to get my degree in Geology at UCLA, which rocked, but I always knew I'd find my way back to San Diego. I got my teaching credential at PLNU and have been teaching at Hancock since 2020. My goal in education is to develop independent students who push their own education forward and care for the learning of their peers. When I'm not teaching you can probably find me out playing tennis/flag football or watching the Padres and SDFC.

Mrs. Leah Dobek, Kindergarten
Hello! My name is Leah Dobek! I have been teaching for 17 years now. I started my career in Cincinnati, Ohio. The last 16 years have all been in San Diego. I moved here with my husband back in 2008. We have grown our family to four now. I have a son, Paxton and a daughter named Sienna. We love being outside, going to the beach, playing soccer, hiking, and vacationing. Teaching has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I have always wanted to be a teacher and my dream came true when I graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. I feel so blessed to be an educator, I get to help shape the minds of the future everyday!

Mrs. Jaime Flores, Kindergarten
My name is Jaime Flores, and I love being a part of Hancock Elementary. I started at Hancock is 2019 as a student teacher, and have been lucky enough to stay at this amazing school since then!
Before teaching at Hancock, I taught preschool for 6 years. I majored in Child and Family Development at San Diego State, and earned my Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Literacy and Language Arts.
Outside of school, I live with my husband, our son Diego, and our sweet dachshund, Coco. I love watching Padre and San Diego FC games, coloring & crafting, eating yummy food, and exploring beautiful sunny San Diego.
