About Our Counselors

Kristen MacMaster: I grew up in California and was always involved in sports and music during my school years. I earned an athletic scholarship to Point Loma Nazarene University for track and field and it was in college, working part-time at an elementary school, that I decided I wanted to pursue a career in school counseling. A few years after graduating with a masters degree from PLNU, I began working at Hancock as a school counselor. My favorite part of being a school counselor are the honest, funny, and meaningful conversations I get to have with students. Outside of work I spend time with my husband, son, and daughter at the beach and parks all over San Diego. I am available in the counseling center from 7:30am-2:45pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and can be reached at (858) 496-8310 x119 or kmacmaster@sandi.net
Trina Day: I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have been a support therapist at Hancock since June 2007. I am an independent subcontractor with Family Forces and was in private practice from December 1984 through November 2012. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science and Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. I am available in my office (room 410) every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am-2pm and can be reached at (858) 496-8310 x366 or tsanborn3@cox.net
MFLC: A Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) is also available for our students and families each day and can be reached at 619-209-9831 or nunezs@magellanhealth.com. See the attached flyer for information on supports available during distance learning.
