Hancock's Special Education Teachers

Mrs. Pian
Hello! My name is Lindsay Pian. I graduated from Cal State San Marcos and completed my multiple subject and special education teaching credentials there as well. I have been an education specialist at Hancock Elementary since the beginning of 2015. It’s such a privilege to be part of this amazing team of educators. My passion is finding ways to help meaningfully include all students in their classroom communities both academically and socially. I love when my students feel proud of themselves. My husband Brandon and I have a 3-year-old son named Isaac. We enjoy riding scooters, building Lego structures, singing and dancing in our living room, and watching all kinds of delivery and emergency vehicles

Ms. Weeks
Hello! My name is Amanda Weeks and this is my second year at Hancock. I'm an education specialist working with various grade levels. This year I am working with 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. I have been in San Diego for almost ten years now. I came to San Diego from Los Angeles for college attending SDSU receiving my bachelors in child development. I then went on to PLNU to receive my teaching credentials and am currently working on my masters in special education. The highlight of my work days are when the lightbulb goes off for a student and seeing them enjoy learning! My true passion is to help children, especially since school did not come easy to me. I hope to instill perseverance in the students I work with! In my free time, I love exploring beautiful San Diego by hiking, standup paddle boarding, and attending country concerts!

Ms. Hong
Hi! My name is Yehee Hong, and I joined the Hancock Staff as an additional Education Specialist this year. I am thrilled to work with this fantastic Hancock team every Wednesday and Thursday.
I would like to share a little bit about myself. I received my bachelor’s degree in Special Education in Korea, my home country, then taught students as a full-time teacher, over two years. After that, I earned my Master’s degree in Special Education in Michigan, where I lived for almost ten years. During my ten-year career as an educator, I have taught many different grade levels, been an Education Specialist, a substitute teacher and a tutor.
I live with my best friend and husband, Jae-young, and our two lovely kids, Sarang, which means “love” in pure Korean, and Hanbit, which means “Light of God.” Whenever we have free time, we enjoy biking, playing soccer and badminton.
I look forward to building a relationship with Hancock students and providing a rigorous and engaging learning environment!
