Lunch Change Effective May 15

Food Services has notified us that starting this week, Monday lunch options will be cheese quesadillas or bento box. In addition, Thursday lunch will be Mary's chicken and cheese quesadillas. This change should be until the end of the year but can change at any time due to supply resources.

State Testing in May

State testing continues this week through the middle of May for students in grades 3-5. They will be working on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). During this testing period, we ask that families plan to have their students in school on time and stay the entire school day. Missing portions of the test will require students to make up the testing on an alternate day with a group outside of their classroom. We know from experience that students do best when they test with their class in their own classroom rather than with another staff member.  If you have any questions regarding CAASPP, please contact your child’s teacher.

Sonic for Dinner Monday May 15

The PTF has organized another “Family Drive Thru” Fundraiser. On Monday, May 15th from 5:00-7:00 plan to “drive in” to Sonic and purchase dinner using this flyer. Sonic will be donating 20% of all purchases with this flyer back to our school.  You must have a physical copy of the flyer so Sonic can staple it to the receipt for the school to receive the donation.  Online orders also do not count.

Narcan/Fentanyl- FREE parent presentation!

Join us May 18th at 5:30 pm in the Hancock Auditorium for a community event to stop fentanyl overdoses and save lives! Childcare and light refreshments will be provided. Please sign up ahead of time for preparation purposes. https://forms.gle/L4PBYiQEULmBw5Gt8

NEW Incoming Kindergarteners for the 2023-2024 School Year

Kindergarten registration has been delayed and the online enrollment will not open until June 1. If you have a Kinder student to register at Hancock for next school year, plan to check the NSEO website HERE and watch for the online registration link to go live for “New Student Online Enrollment 2023-2024” after this date.  All new student registration must begin with this online application. Once this online process is complete, please visit the main office to pick up the full registration packet. All new students will need to provide an original birth certificate, proof of residency, and up-to-date immunizations. Students who are returning after UTK in the 22/23 school year at any SDUSD school site do not need to do anything. For further questions, please email our School Clerk, Mrs. Beeler [email protected].

If your student tests positive for COVID-19, please complete the Self Reporting Tool and notify the school’s health office. If you have any questions about when and what is required for your student to return to school, please contact the office at 619-605-3200.

Reporting Absences

If your child will be absent please be sure to report the absence to the office, not just your teacher.  You may report the absence using this google form OR you may call our phone line at 619-605-3200 and press 1 for attendance to leave a message any day/time.  Please be specific in your reason.
