PTF End-of-Year Grams

The end of the school year is right around the corner, and the PTF is selling candy grams to help get in the spirit!  If you have friends, classmates, or staff you’re going to miss over the summer, why not buy them a Goodbye Gram to let them know.  They are $1/each or you can buy a whole class’s worth for $20.  Stop by before or after school next Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (29-31) to purchase yours.  They will be delivered on June 5th.

Mathnasium Summer Program

Summer is the time for kids to seek some much-needed fun. But it’s also the ideal time to

accelerate their math skills and get them ready for school in the fall. Mathnasium’s personalized learning

plans help them catch up and get ahead, so they can turn the summer slide into a summer leap.

And don’t worry, they’ll still enjoy their summer because they make learning math fun.  See Flyer for summer program information.

Patience at Drop Off/Pick Up

At this time of year we are transitioning our fourth grade Safety Patrol trainees into full time status out on the streets for drop off and pick up.  They are nervous and are not used to being out there without their fifth grade mentors.  Please be kind and patient with them as they are someone’s child that attends our school.  Please treat them as you would want your child to be treated.  Please give yourself extra time to arrive at school.  Cursing, revving your car, and yelling at a student for doing their job is unacceptable and will be reported to the San Diego Police Department who train our Safety Patrol.  No student deserves that. It will not be tolerated.

Are You Returning to Hancock Next Year?

If your student will not be returning to Hancock in August for the 2024-2025 school year, please be sure to come into the office and sign exit paperwork prior to the end of the school year. It’s very important for us to have this release of your student’s records to your new school.

Important Income Survey for Funding - LCFF Forms

If you received a paper version of the LCFF Data survey, please return it to your child’s teacher no later than May 31st. If you prefer to do this online, you can go to your Parent Portal account and complete the 24/25 survey there, and return the blank paper form with a note at the bottom that it was done on Parent Portal. For assistance with Parent Portal, please contact Dawn in the Hancock Office. Letter to Parents about the LCFF Data Collection English  Spanish  More information on the LCFF data here

Need to Report an Absence?

If your child will be absent from school, please be sure to report your absence to the office, not just your teacher.  You may report the absence using this google form or you may also call our phone line at 619-605-3200 and press 1 for attendance to leave a message.  Please be specific in your reason.
