Purple Up Days

A huge thank you to all families who were able to join us for our Purple Up activities last week. We love celebrating our students for Month of the Military Child and all year long.  As mentioned on Friday’s Flag Assembly - we know the unique struggles of our military students and try to make their time at Hancock as special as they are.

State Testing for Grades 3 - 5

A letter went out on Monday informing all families, with students in 3rd-5th grades, that state testing begins on Tuesday, April 22nd. In addition to the information in the letter, we also need your help reminding students to please charge their device each night. Having the device charged nightly ensures that students can work uninterrupted during the testing session. Additionally, because this is a computer adaptive test, it's essential that students have headphones or earbuds that can be plugged in. Please be sure to send students to school with their charged device and headphones daily. Our cafeteria will be available for students to eat breakfast starting at 7:15 and students must be on time (before 7:50am) to ensure they get all the time they need to do their best on the test.  We acknowledge that a single assessment cannot provide a complete picture of your child’s academic and social-emotional well-being. We also know that our students have been working hard and are ready to SOAR to the top!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Spring Scholastic Book Fair continues this week! Here’s what you need to know about the book fair:

  • Students will have a 2nd chance this week to shop at the Book Fair with their class during library time.

  • Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.

  • Please join us for our family event on April 24, 2025 from 4:30pm. To 6:00pm. It coincides with our Family Science Night!

  • If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school.

Family Science Night

We will be hosting our annual Science Night on Thursday, April 24 from 4:30-6:00 in the auditorium. Fleet Science Center will be joining us with activity stations, the book fair will be OPEN, and the Kona Ice truck will be there too!  😊 Flyer

You're Invited! End-of-Year Community Chat📣

Join us for our final Community Chat of the year on Friday, April 25th at 8:00 in the Eagles Nest! This is a chance to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together, connect with fellow families, and share your thoughts on what worked well and what we can improve as we plan ahead. 🌿 PTF will share exciting end-of-year updates 🥐Come make a Crunchy Connection, as snacks will be provided! - Flyer

No Parking in School Lot Reminder

With increased volunteer events and activities on campus, it’s time to remind our families that the school parking lot is for Hancock Staff Only! Volunteers, field trip chaperones, and parents on campus for meetings may not park in our lot during the school day. If you are coming onto campus to pick up a student during the school day, you may park along the curb in front of the main entrance temporarily while you come into the office. For all other visits, please plan ahead and park on the street. Be sure to pay attention to No Parking signs and posted parking timeframes in the neighborhood. Cars found in violation may be cited.

Art to Remember - Order Deadlines

Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $20. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child's order form or to search for your child's artwork.  Then, have fun shopping!  https://arttoremember.com/school/G85DEY
