Spring Break is over, but the treats are just beginning! Sprinkle in "ON TIME" and join us in the quad on the first day back—students who arrive on time will get a free donut to kick off the day. Let us glaze your day with a sweet breakfast treat and start the new season strong! 

Family Friday (3rd Grade) Apr 11

We’re excited to welcome 3rd grade families to Family Friday on April 11th—a special opportunity for you to step into your child’s classroom and see their learning in action!  No clearance is necessary—just sign in at your child’s classroom. The front gate will open for Family Fridays at 1:40 PM. Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on these meaningful moments!

Give Back Friday Apr 11: Purple Up Day Prep 🎉

Join us on Friday, April 11th, from 8 AM to 2 PM to help us prepare for Purple Up Day by assembling 700 goodie bags!  In addition, you can also support our teachers and any work they might need assistance with. Let’s make it a special day for our military kids and teachers! Flyer

Lunch with a Loved One: Month of Military Child: Apr 15 🍽️💜

Join us on April 15 for a heartwarming celebration in honor of Month of the Military Child! We're inviting families to share a special “Lunch with a Loved One” as we recognize the strength, resilience, and spirit of our amazing military children. Flyer/Lunch Schedule

The first 300 adults to register will receive a FREE lunch—so don’t wait to secure your spot! After those spots are filled, lunch will be available for just $6.00 per adult and $4.00 per child. Please note: free and paid spots apply to adult meals only.- Register for Free Lunch 

Purple Up for Military Children

April is Month of the Military Child. At Hancock, we celebrate our military students all year, but especially during our Purple Up Week April 14 - 18. Some of the special activities, include:

  • All Week: Spirit Days - Flyer

  • 4/14: Boot Camp - during PE classes, students will be led through obstacle courses

  • 4/15: Lunch With a Loved One - Western BBQ style - Plan to have lunch with your students

  • 4/18: Special Flag Assembly featuring the Navy Band at 7:55am. In the evening is Spring Fling, sponsored by our Parent Teacher Foundation!

Are You Returning to Hancock Next Year?

It is time for us to begin preparing for next school year. In order to assist our staff with this process, please take a moment to complete this quick survey to let us know what your family’s plans are.  You will answer the survey for your oldest student at Hancock currently in grades UTK-4. The Spring Book Fair is Coming!!

The Scholastic Book is returning for Spring and will be held April 14-25 during your child’s library time.  There will also be a special evening event to coincide with Family Science Night on April 24th where families can come to the Book Fair and purchase books as well.  Details will be coming soon!

Parent Teacher Foundation (PTF) Updates 💡

  • PTF News!  We have openings for the 2025-2026 school year on the PTF board. If you are interested, please reach out to any PTF member or email us at [email protected]

The following positions are available: 

  • Fundraising chair- identify and coordinate fundraisers, create fundraiser schedule, liaison between the community, PTF, and fundraising partners. 

  • Garden Coordinator- submit requests for funds, proposals for fundraisers for garden support, and coordinate volunteers to maintain and sustain the garden. 

  • Volunteer Coordinator- coordinate volunteers for the PTF and partnerships with community organizations to benefit the school and events.

Regular school attendance is essential for student success. If your child will be absent, please report it within five days to avoid the absence being marked unexcused, which can lead to truancy.
