Emergency Notification
With the wildfire events of the last couple weeks, our attention to preparedness has heightened. Our school would like to do a test of our emergency notification system. In the event of an emergency, our school will communicate with families to notify you of any changes to the regular school day schedule or to inform you of any emergency situation. This communication is done 3 ways:
-
School Messenger - email and phone call
-
Kinvo - text broadcast message to your cell phone
-
Dojo message for those classes connected to ClassDojo
On Tuesday Jan 28th, Hancock will be sending out a test message using all methods. The goal of this test is to ensure our notification system is working as expected and to identify families that may be missing contact information or have blocked our automated systems.

Summer School Information
2025 Summer programs will run June4 - July 3 and are funded by the California Department of Education ELOP Grant. Our district will offer priority enrollment to eligible TK-6 students who meet any of the following criteria:
-
Homeless and/or foster youth
-
Low income (eligible for free/reduced meals under LCFF)
-
English Learners
-
Siblings of the above
-
Students with disabilities (IEP or 504)
Eligible families will receive an email and text notification sent to the primary contact information on file with PowerSchool. The priority enrollment window opens on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. and closes on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 9:59 p.m. We anticipate the demand for summer programs may surpass capacity once the priority enrollment application window closes. We will notify families if space becomes available for general enrollment.

Families with questions regarding ESY eligibility should reach out to their student’s case manager.

Moving Soon? We Need to Know!📦🚚📤
If you and your family have upcoming orders prior to the end of the school year, please be sure to let our office know about your tentative date. This allows us to prepare for the transfer of records and track outgoing and incoming students. Prior to exiting school, we also need a parent/guardian signature of withdrawal for the official school record. You can stop into the office or contact our clerk, Ms. Amanda, at 619-605-3200, Option 2 or via email [email protected] .
Safety Reminder 🚸 🛑 🚗 🚦
Recently, we have observed concerning behavior, including drivers not adhering to stop signs and other traffic rules. These actions not only create confusion but also put pedestrians, especially our students, at serious risk. To keep our parking lot open and safe, we ask all families to follow these important guidelines including obeying traffic laws, respecting safety patrol, following posted signs, and following staff member instructions. If unsafe behavior continues, we may have no choice but to close the parking lot to ensure the safety of all students and families. This would mean cars would no longer be allowed to enter or exit the lot, and families would need to park off-campus and walk their children to and from school. We know that with everyone’s cooperation, this can be avoided. Let’s work together to make our school a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
Need to Report an Absence? ❌
If your child will be absent from school, please be sure to report your absence to the office, not just your teacher. You may report the absence using this google form or you may also call our phone line at 619-605-3200 and Option 1 for attendance to leave a message. Please be specific in your reason.
