Veterans Day November 11th 🎖️🗽✨
On Monday we will observe Veterans Day as a school and district. Please take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible service and sacrifice of the veterans in our school community. We are grateful for the dedication and resilience shown by those who have served and their loved ones who stand beside them. Happy Veterans Day to all who serve and have served! Enjoy your day and we will see everyone back at school on Tuesday, November 12th.
Hancock Turkey Trot Results 🦃🏃♂️🏃♀️
Hello Hancock families! You are doing an amazing job fundraising for your kiddos, or should I say, little turkeys. For those who have been caught up in life, there is still time to fundraise. The deadline is November 14th at midnight. Here is the link to register.https://www.getmovinfundhub.com/event-webpage/6601b420dc37f
As of Friday, we have raised $34,530! We have a local foundation who will add $5,000 to whatever our community raises. That is fantastic. They see the importance of enriching the lives of Hancock students by supporting the garden and field trips. Most exciting is when we reach $40,000, Mr. Salas will wear the turkey costume to the November 15th flag assembly. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you! Mrs. Cimins [email protected]
Lunch With a Loved One 11/13 🥪❤️🍽️💖
You're invited to savor a moment of connection with your child during our 'Lunch with a Loved One! Join us in the school cafeteria for a delightful lunch with your student. Please make sure to check lunch times on the flyer and be on time. Students will not be given extra time. Parents are welcome to eat with multiple grade levels but will need to exit campus at the end of each lunch session if the lunches are not consecutive. Please see this Flyer for expectations for all visitors for this event so we can have a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We also ask that students remain after Lunch with a Loved One so this event doesn’t create unexcused early release absences.
Flag Assembly 11/15!🫡🎉
Please join us for our monthly whole school flag salute at 7:50am on Friday Nov. 15th in the quad. A short awards presentation will follow. Teachers will reach out to families of students receiving awards.
Give Back Friday 11/15💙🤲
This Friday will be our next opportunity to “give back” to our teachers and staff. If you have an hour or more to donate during the school day, please plan to visit our Eagles Nest (Rm 702) any time between 8:00-2:00 on Friday Nov. 15th to see what projects could use your help. Typically this is anything from cutting shapes to assembling math workbooks. You do not need to be a cleared volunteer since you will not have any interaction with students. If you have a young child you are caring for and would like to bring them, there is a play area in the room to keep them busy while you work. Please contact Ms. Abi ([email protected]) with any questions. Please follow protocols for visitors by checking into the office when you arrive. Flyer

Core Academy is an additional instructional day (though only 4 hours), taught by Hancock teachers, and offers academic support in various core subject areas. Sessions run 8:00am - 12:00pm. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending Core Academy at no charge. Last day to sign your student up for this first session is Wednesday, Nov 13th. Register by filling out this form.
Federal Impact Aid Survey 📄
If you have not completed the yellow form, Federal Impact Aid Survey, the deadline to return this to your teacher is November 15th. Without your data, SDUSD may miss out on funds designated to assist school districts that enroll federally connected students. At Hancock, most students are federally connected based on where they live or where their parents work. Linked here is a helpful partial list of Federal Properties locally. Note that Liberty Military Housing is on this list as are many of the locations your family may work. If you have lost track of your form, blank ones are available in the front office.
Moving Soon? We Need to Know!📦🚚📤
We know this time of year is getting not only into the Holiday Season, but also “PCS Season”. If you and your family have upcoming orders during November or December, please be sure to let our School Clerk, Ms. Amanda, know about your tentative date. This allows us to prepare for the transfer of records and track outgoing and incoming students. You can stop into the office or contact her at 619-605-3200, Option 2.
Choice Selection for Middle School Due 11/15!🔍🎒
