Minimum Days All Week and Upcoming Thanksgiving Break

This coming week, Nov 13-17, our teachers will be meeting with families to review their students’ first grading period progress. In order for teachers to have time to meet with all families, the entire week will be early dismissal (minimum day dismissal of 12:15). Please be sure to make any necessary childcare arrangements for the week.

All schools in the district will be on Thanksgiving Break the entire week of Thanksgiving (Nov 20-24).

Family Fridays

Family Fridays are coming to Hancock!  This is a great opportunity to come into the classroom and learn with your child. Teachers may have a reading or math activity for students to do with their parents.  We will be holding Family Fridays the first Friday of every month, beginning on December 1st from 1:40 - 2:00.  Please take the time now to request time away from work so you may join us. We hope to see you there!

Getting Ready to Move?

We know some of our families are getting ready for moves over the holidays. If you learn of your move date, please be sure to communicate with the front office so we can be prepared for the transfer of records. You can reach our clerk, Mrs. Beeler, at 619-605-3200 Option 2.

Scholastic Book Fair

Hancock is excited to welcome back our bi-annual Scholastic Book Fair!. The Book Fair will be held in the Hancock library for two weeks, beginning Nov 6th.  The first week, students will preview the fair and make their wish lists with their classroom during their normal library time. During the second week, which is the week of Parent Teacher Conferences, students will shop during class time but the Fair will also be open after school from 1:00-3:00, to allow families to shop with their children.  Visit Hancock’s Book Fair homepage to set up an eWallet, shop online or get a preview of books available

Lost and Found Last Call

The number of jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles and lunch boxes in our Lost and Found is more than we’ve ever seen. Every day more gets added to the pile as students remove them during recess and leave them on the playground. Without names inside, we cannot match them to students and they remain unclaimed. Please Please Please come look through our rack at the front of school as well as the wall along the lunch court either before or after school. All unclaimed items will be donated on the Friday before Thanksgiving Break (11/17).
