Updates Needed for Your Student’s Record

The district requires us to update your student’s records annually with certain information.  This year, with student’s not on campus, we have a “digital packet” for you to update.  PLEASE HELP US BY COMPLETING THIS INFORMATION FOR EVERY CHILD YOU HAVE AT HANCOCK. It should only take a few minutes of your time. Please complete this information by Oct 9th.

Phase One Return to school at Hancock

Everyone should have received a communication from Superintendent Cindy Marten regarding the potential for a small number of students to return to Hancock for scheduled sessions.  This phase is built for small portions of our student population who are showing the greatest need.  We do not anticipate large numbers of students participating in Phase One.  This will be the jumping off point for Phase two and it is meant to be a short phase which will inform us on how to move forward with future phases. Please know that although many of our staff would like to return for Phase One they simply cannot due to a variety of reasons which could include but is not limited to child care issues, health reasons, caring for a family member who is immuno-compromised, etc.  We as a staff will be meeting to discuss Phase one and then work on inviting those students who we can accommodate during this phase. As Superintendent Marten mentioned there is no additional action on your part.  Teachers will reach out directly to families.  We appreciate our families  and your patience and understanding as we move forward and hopefully have our students back on campus for full day instruction one day soon.

MFLC Parent Session

Please join Ms. Sandy the Military Family and Life Counselor (MFLC) for a weekly zoom group for spouses on " Coping Strategies for Uncertainties for Life". A place and time to share thoughts and feelings about current life stressors surrounding military life. Groups are held every week on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:30 pm. Please RSVP at 619-209-9831 at least 2 hours before group time. Looking forward to seeing you on zoom soon.

Questions/Concerns About Distance Learning Technology Issues

For technology questions/issues, the District IT Department has four Technology Support Centers for Families to exchange broken student Chromebooks and for hotspot pickups. We encourage families to continue to call the Family Technology Support Line 619-732-1400 for initial troubleshooting, but we can now direct families to exchange student Chromebooks when needed to one of the four Support Centers. Please view the SDUSD Family Technology Support Center Locations 2020-21 for locations.  The district also has a support website with lots of information and guides for troubleshooting.  This is a very helpful resource for issues you may encounter.
