School Site Council Parent Vote

Thank you to the candidates below for volunteering to run as Parent School Site Council (SSC) parent representatives.

Kelley Wolff -   I currently have two students at Hancock so I have a vested interest in helping with the SSC committee. I also have enjoyed serving on it for two previous school years and would like to continue to offer my support this way by being a part of decisions that help benefit the students, teachers and staff.

Amy Bull - Hello! My name is Amy Bull and I have a current fourth grader at Hancock Elementary. This is my second year on Hancock SSC and I truly enjoy helping the school and families. My husband is active duty in the Navy and I have 4 total children, three enrolled in San Diego Unified School District.

We are still in need of a 3rd parent representative.  Please use the following link:  https://forms.gle/RYh6oWdKxHpdQaLu8 to vote for Mrs. Wolff and Mrs. Bull.  If you are interested there is also an opportunity to write yourself in as a write in candidate for our 3rd vacant seat for SSC parent representative.  If you have any questions please feel free to email Principal Hightower at ihightower@sandi.net

Updates Needed for Your Student’s Record

If you have not completed the annual student data updates yet, please take a few minutes to complete this. If you cannot do this online, the school office has hard copy forms you can use. You can come by Mon-Fri between 9am-1pm to pick the form up.

  1. Updates in Parent Portal - Please log into PowerSchool Parent Portal and select these two options from the left hand navigation. If you have not set up a Parent Portal account, follow directions here.  Contact dvanboxtel@sandi.net if you have any questions about setting this up.  Note: this does not work on the PowerSchool app, you must log into the website through the link above.

  1. Update Your Information: Please make sure we have the most up to date contact information, including email and phone numbers. Submit any changes.
  2. LCFF Data Collection:  Hancock receives funds from the state through the LCFF (Local Control Funding Formula) and the district is required to submit information about families through the Parent Portal in Powerschool this year.  Please know this information is private and will not be shared for any other purpose.

Questions/Concerns About Distance Learning Technology Issues

For technology questions/issues, the District IT Department has four Technology Support Centers for Families to exchange broken student Chromebooks and for hotspot pickups. We encourage families to continue to call the Family Technology Support Line 619-732-1400 for initial troubleshooting, but we can now direct families to exchange student Chromebooks when needed to one of the four Support Centers. Please view the SDUSD Family Technology Support Center Locations 2020-21 for locations.  The district also has a support website with lots of information and guides for troubleshooting.  This is a very helpful resource for issues you may encounter.
