Mandatory Survey Due Monday 3/22

You should have received an email from Principal Hightower with information we have regarding our reopening for students in person the week of April 12, 2021.  If you have not already completed the mandatory survey indicating your choice for Onsite/Online Hybrid or the Online Only model, please do so today. The deadline for this survey is March 22.  You will need your child’s student ID.  If your response is not received by 3/22, your child may be assigned to the Online Only model.

Parent Teacher Conferences - Onsite Schedules Discussed

If you have not already, this week you have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to review their academic progress through the second Trimester.  In addition to academics, your teacher will also be able to tell you what group/days your child is scheduled to be on campus or you can advise your teacher your child will remain online only, so be sure to connect with teachers this upcoming week.

Have Questions/Input for Reopening?

Our rescheduled PTF meeting will be on 3/23/2021 at 6:00pm this month. The first part of the meeting will be normal PTF business with the second half being Mrs. Hightower answering questions our families have sent in about the reopening next month. Questions were due this past Friday but you can still send them in to https://forms.gle/gUP6XjkRXPSGNXYq6  Because of time restrictions, there is a chance we may not be able to find out the answer before the meeting though but will try our best. Please join us to get your questions answered and for your chance to win a Starbucks gift card!

Information Regarding Health on Our Campus

As we prepare for students back on campus, the Hancock Health Office has prepared some information for you regarding student illnesses, when to keep students home and when they can return to campus after an illness. Please read this information and contact Nurse Brandi if you have any specific questions.

Letter From Nurse Brandi

For families that will be traveling during Spring Break, keep in mind that it is highly recommended that families isolate/quarantine for 10 days after the return from vacation.

One Week Closure of All In-Person Instruction

Next week (March 22-26) will be our last week of any in person instruction. In order to prepare for reopening of Hancock for all families we will unfortunately need to end our Learning Lab and all in person appointment based instruction the week of April 5th-9th.  All staff will be required to be in trainings and professional development throughout the day that week and cannot accommodate in person instruction of any kind. Please make other child care arrangements if needed.

Hancock is Hiring

To safely reopen campus, Hancock will be hiring a couple new staff members to help supervise students during the school days. Duties will include supervising safe entry/exit of campus, assisting lower grade teachers in classrooms and supervising students during lunches. This will be an hourly position on an as needed basis.  If you are interested in applying, please contact our ESA, Dawn Van Boxtel at dvanboxtel@sandi.net.
