Getting to School Safely

As we see more and more parents using our drop off and pick up lines, please review this video on how to arrive at school safely that was made by our PTF. All of the rules pertain to both car drop off/pick up as well as those walking to school.  It is less than 5 minutes to watch and will save everyone time and frustration as we arrive and depart safely the Hancock way.  Click here:  Getting to school Safely

Here is also a written version of how to use the drop off zone safely: Hancock Drop Off Directions.docx

Please do not park on Brumby Street.  There are signs notifying you that there is no school parking allowed and residents have had difficulty parking in their own driveways due to cars blocking them.  As a reminder, the 8 parking spots facing the kindergarten playground and garden are reserved for school staff. Do not park in these spots even if it’s for a quick pick-up. We have staff that work various hours and these spots are reserved for them. Reminder: It is unlawful for any person to park any vehicle in space designated for disabled persons unless the vehicle displays either a special identification license plate or a distinguishing placard per California Vehicle Code. San Diego Police and SDUSD School Police periodically patrol the parking lot and will cite vehicles parked illegally.

Budget for the 2023-24 School Year

Wednesday, February 22nd:  8:00AM, 2:30PM or 5:30PM

Friday, March 3rd at 8:00AM.

All input from staff, parents, and community members will be shared with our School Site Council who will vote on the site’s Title I funds on Monday, March 6th.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19, please complete the Self Reporting Tool and notify the school’s health office. If you have any questions about when and what is required for your student to return to school, please contact our health office at 619-605-3200, Option 3.
