Optional COVID-19 Home Test Kits

All students who were at school the day prior to Spring Break were sent home with a COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kit containing two tests. These kits were provided by SDUSD and Primary Health. Students and staff might be exposed to COVID-19 during Spring Break and testing at home helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. You are encouraged to test your student three (3) days prior to returning to school (April 1) and again the morning on the day of return (April 4). Instructions were provided with the kit or can be viewed here.

Purple Up For Military Kids 4/15

The Month of April offers us a special opportunity to acknowledge and honor the service of our littlest heroes, our military children.  Established by Caspar Weinberger, the Month of the Military Child recognizes the important role military children play in our communities.  Hancock invites everyone to “Purple Up” on Friday, April 15th. Wearing purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported; Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue all thought to combine together as a single color, purple.

Does your student have absences to make up? Could he/she use some extra academic support?  Core Academy not only provides students with an opportunity to receive additional instruction in various core subject areas, but it also gives students the ability to make up one full day of absence and up to 4 tardies!. The next session will be Saturday, April 16 from 8:00a to 12:00p. We will be offering this to students in grades 2-5 only. Spaces are limited. This is one of the final sessions of the school year.
