2021-22 School Year Budget

We are currently in the process of creating our budget for the next school year.  Mrs. Hightower has created a video explaining the budget for next school year and what we as a school are looking at funding.  Once you view the video here: Hancock Budget 2021-22.webm   please take this survey Hancock Budget Input  by Wednesday, February 24th at 5PM and make any recommendations or suggestions for the next school year.  The School Site Council is meeting February 25th and will make the final decision on all Title I funds. 

Office of Family Engagement Parent Workshop

Join SDUSD’s Office of Family Engagement at a meeting focused on vaccine information education. District health experts will share facts and respond to your questions or concerns regarding the new vaccines.  More details are on their website calendar.  https://sdusdfamilies.org

School Portraits/Yearbook Information

Families, please help us in our efforts to create a yearbook for this unusual year!  Without regular school portraits we need your photographs!  Each classroom has a Shutterfly yearbook Sharesite where you can upload your photos.  Contact your classroom teacher for access information.  Please submit photos by Feb 28th.

Yearbook Coordinator contact: If uploading photos into the Shutterfly site doesn’t work for you, you can email photos or questions to Dawn in the front office dvanboxtel@sandi.net. Be sure to include the student name and teacher.

Parent Teacher Foundation (PTF) Information

Eagle Challenge Success! Thank you so much to all the families that participated in the Hancock SOARing Eagle Challenge. Together, we raised $25,877!!! Way to go Eagles!

Art to Remember Material Distribution- Friday, 2/26 Families that would like to participate in the Art to Remember program, please drive-thru the school parking lot between 12:00-1:30 and pick up your Art kit for our Art to Remember Event coming up. Not all grades will have the same materials so be sure to let us know what grade your student is in. Students will work on an art piece in class with the help of Mrs. Rodenbaugh (Hancocks very own art teacher) during the month of March. Families will need to upload the artwork to the Art to Remember website by the end of March. Families will get a chance to purchase images with your child's artwork on it, such a coffee mug, magnets and so much more. More information will be coming soon on how to order but for now, don't forget to pick up the materials!

Read Across America week- March 1st-5th School Spirit week! Make sure to post your pictures on the PTF facebook page for a chance to win a Hancock Elementary school face mask! One winner will be chosen every day for a total of 5 winners!

  • Monday- We love Pets day! Share a picture of you with your pet! Stuffed pets count as well.
  • Tuesday- Read, Read, Read! Share a picture of what you're reading today.
  • Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday! Wear your wackiest, tackiest, inside out and backwards clothes you can think of.
  • Thursday- Hancock Spirit! Show off your Hancock school spirits with your Hancock shirt or Hancock school colors!
  • Friday-Pajama day!! Wear your pajamas to school ALL DAY!

Free Book Distribution Friday, 2/26 between 12-1:30 you can come through the school parking lot and pick up a free book and bookmark to help celebrate Read Across America week! These are while supplies last.

If your child will be absent from online learning please be sure to report your absence.  You may report the absence using this google form or you may also call our phone line at 619-605-3200 and press 1 for attendance to leave a message.  Please be specific in your reason.
